Hanging in there!

It's November 3rd, a full week since my husband's back surgery. He had a his spine fused, between L4 & L5. So far, as much as I can tell....it's been a very painful experience for him! He slept a good portion of today and honestly I'm glad, he has a tendency to do too much sometimes. I feel bad for him and I hope neither of us have to go through this again....it has been very hard so far!

I'm back home now full time and I see that I will need a period of adjustment to get used to being home again. I am so happy to be back home, but I'm a little scared to believe it's true. I have so much work to do around the house, maybe I will feel better once it's all done. Then I will be able to focus on my training. I'm beginning school through Career Step to become a Medical Transcriptionist. Once the house is organized, especially the office, I will be able to get to work! The plan is to never return to work outside the home. In fact my hubby intends to train as a Medical Transcriptionist as well. That way one of us can work while the other plays or teaches Sarah. Then we can go out to play dates or other adventures at our leisure.

There is additional portion to the plan, over the next two years we are preparing to immigrate to Canada! My husband has family there and he recently lost his mother and father. We want to move closer to them and we have been discussing it for some time now. Actually we knew we wouldn't be able to leave until his parents passed because they couldn't come due to the weather. We just had no clue they would pass so soon.

That has been a trial in itself, losing Tommy's parents. They were wonderful people. Tommy's mom didn't meet a stranger and loved people so well. If you were one of her own you didn't have to worry. And Pop, he was a character! I will never forget the last time I saw him, he asked me for a hug...makes me want to cry! I miss them both so much!

So this is a new start for Tommy and I, one that hopefully has my husband more physically able and all three of us closer as a family! I just feel so blessed to be here!
